evening swimming in the pool
nearing midnight
saw a shooting star
faintly
lately things are so
unconventional
out of sorts
normally this late
I'd be sitting in that light
on the left
dog sleeping groaning
beside me
there was the day
he would accompany me
leaping in behind me
he just lay next to the
pool
and waited for the old fool
to finish the midnight
swim
so I could take him in
and
do what is
conventional for him.
