There ole lame Magoo with a cane stood in the rain. The first to leave the Branford Camera Club awards ceremony at the Gateway Art Gallery - Art League of North FL Gallery. Those Branford Camera Club guys and gals sure put on a good show. Magoo was most impressed with John Middleton ‘s photo along with his other friends Robert Wolfe and Dave Champ who also won. It was back to the camera for Magoo, inspired by all who entered. Maybe he will try an African safari like Rachel Shelly, whose photo of a leopard got an honorable mention.

Mans of means
Man of means
John Clare Stokes
Were I a man of means
Able to carry out my dreams
I'd reclaim remnants others
Let slip away
Allow them to live long beyond
My dying day
I'd take Verbenadale
The little Country church
Out from Williston
Falling down
Restore it down
To the upright piano
The wooden pews too
In a few homes yet
The Prepare to meet thy God blue sign
The red muslin curtains
Make it a shrine
To a time
We danced beneath those leaning majestic oaks
With some colored folks
All decked in white
Doyle Crosby keeping time
Grandma Pearl with the Knauff fan
In the cicada loud night
I'd take old Pilgrims Rest
Now in Sopchoppy
Move it from that garish spot
On Rose street
Find a shady old oak home place
By the dark river bank
Cut that dog trot back to its former size
Find those two Camilla bushes
John Towles gave to Lucille
As a wedding gift
Replant them at the foot of
The front steps
Where they grew so long
One bearing white
The other red blossoms
Surround the home with
Scuppernong grapes and Bradford pears
Persimmons for possums
Blueberries galore
Just as it was
With a Georgia red sugar cane patch out back
The Golden mill
The 60 gallon Columbus kettle
Which is kept in storage
Restored to grind come November
As I remember
And the old stolen Gravely tractor
Surely with means
Find one like it
Restored of course
To its former glory
Just as I recall so often
Lord
Grant it?
I know
Silently you watch it all rust and
Fall to the ground
So unconcerned with such
Dreams of means.

To sell with you
Rose wanted to purchase the winning print from the Wally Reichert show. I had already given it to Melanie to hang in her Hospice office. I ordered another only in metallic, a better print. And said she could have it for $60. We arranged to meet yesterday and when she saw the print, she said I thought there was more blue in the sky, can you make it larger? She ended up taking the print, originally she said Mike Grecian was going to frame it, then it was I don’t want to spend that much to have him frame it. Did I have the link where I got my frame from Amazon? I sent the link. I went online to Adorama and put in a larger print and the resolution was too low for it. I then had Melanie bring home the print so I could see for myself if there was blue in the sky. There wasn’t. I told her via text. I hate these picky, cheap people. To sell with her.

Branford Camera Club
I decided to enter two in the show. Melissa and Elizabeth both liked the deer. Melissa liked the black and white also.
American woman and Rails to whitetails
Rocky
Rocky
We said after this one
There would not be
Another one
Bigger than a grown
Child
Smarter than a man
Manners of a gentleman
Never bit anyone
Nor shunned
Accepted all as equal
When he is gone
I hope I can be
Half the human
He was a dog.
Dreamers
Dreamers
The old book claimed
That in the latter end
Fire would rain
The old men would dream
The young see visions
I sleep long lately
Now that visions dim
In every gathering cloud
I see Angels descending
But the flames fade
To a soft purple glow
No celestial creatures
Tonight
I sheath the sword
Set it beside the night stand
The man talking
Says he saw them
I think he's misleading
As I drift away
the dreams begin
Burning fiery.
Little Man
Little Man
Little man was real
Only thing
He was only real
While we lived in
Sopchoppy
He told me
He couldn't make the move
To Monticello
He'd become plastic
I didn't listen
I carried him against his will
He all these years
Has remained
Stoic and still
Pointing toward
Sopchoppy.
Web sight
A friend offered to build me a web page for photography but naturally for a few, a few thousand dollars. Don’t he know I’m 70 and selling equipment to pay off bills?
It would be nice but at this point, a sad no thanks.
The Senior Season
1972-73 Season
Friday, December 1st. Played Cross City. We looked exceptional. Kenny-22,Danny-16,Calvin-15,Jeff-14,Pat-10,Me-10,Amos-2. 6 in double figures! But even though we won 89-57, I feel optimistic about the team. I feel that we might get worse as jealousy and shot-gunning seem to prevail. But still we won.
