D7000

Here we go again.
Out shooting lately with the D3100 I purchased from Adorama for around $400 refurbished.
I found the remote I had would not work with it. The manual lenses I have will not meter.
The flash cannot be used without a cord.
And then, many dust spots started showing up in the sky shots.
Frustration ensued.
Tonight, I went to B&H and ordered the Nikon D7000.
There is a newer D7100 but several hundred dollars more and
essentially the same camera.
Will I be able to keep it and pay it off on the card monthly?
That remains to be seen.
Also ordered a spare battery since the spare battery for the D3100 I ordered months ago has yet to arrive.
Just today I was out and sure enough the battery died. No spare.
Lugging dead weight.
With the D7000 I should be able to use the manual lenses without having to
guess the exposure.
I should be able to use the flash without the cord.
It has two SD Card slots. I will be able to shoot raw in one and JPeg in the other.
It will not save weight though.
Hopefully it is not a refurbished model.
We shall see.
We shall see.
I have done this several times before and sent the camera back.

Moon Watching

This was the closest we came to capturing an airplane crossing through the moon this evening.
The Alligator Lake dock behind the DOT is a good spot for moon watching. Too bad we no longer live in town, as I would probably spend every evening there during moon phase.
