Coming Cold
vulture moon
After the walk on the gay dike today with the great contrasts in dark and light sky, I waited about fifteen minutes at the end of the trail, watching the vultures heading for roost. One or two passed within range of the moon. Hand held.
Still hoping to capture the sandhill cranes in the formation crossing the moon.
Goldfish bandit
Went outside to leave for the lake, a large bird flew from the little pond in the front yard. It was a Great Blue Heron. I went back in and waited, he flew back. I watched about thirty minutes as he walked about the pond slowly, stabbing our last remaining large goldfish!
I left and Melanie said that he returned, hanging around most of the day. Odd when he has ponds all about the area to choose from. Ours is covered by trees and such. Interesting he would find it.
