On the Wilmore Road

While traveling out from Lexington on Highway 68 toward Wilmore, we pulled off the road for this tree. We saw many such scenes along the back roads, though not enough horse farms, which are more to the North of Lexington.

Atop East River Mountain

Directly below the East River Mountain looking down upon Bluefield. To the right of the Cumberland Road Baptist Church steeple was my grandmother's home. Many homes on Cumberland Road were moved or torn down to make way for the widening of the road. My grandmothers home was moved across the highway, where it stands today.

Luke England on Crumpler Mountain

While visiting Crumpler, the birthplace of Evelyn Wood Barnard and my mother, we drove up the mountain behind the town. There, several men were riding their ATV's and moto-cross bikes. The area has some economic boost from the many ATV's that come and ride on the Hatfield and McCoy Trail on Pinnacle Creek near Crumpler.
